Tips for a Great First Date

Your first date will set the tone for the entire relationship. It's worth spending some time to come up with a great sequence of events. Here are my personal favorite suggestions. Please reply with yours!
  • Plan Your Date. Think of something fun and pleasantly surprise your date at every turn. Your date will know you spent some time thinking about it - or just be simply surprised at your ingenious ability to spin every moment into a good time.
  • Go Somewhere Fun. Pick a date that involves an activity where you'll have a chance to talk. For example, go to the Zoo. Rather than talking about your previous relationships, you can enjoy the wildlife together and have plenty of "aww" moments. Instead of going to a two hour movie (wasting most of a 3-hour date), go to an Imax theater and see a 45-minute presentation in 3D. It's different and won't soak up your time. Here are some other ideas...
    • Zoo
    • Wine tasting
    • Hike or walk in good weather
    • Eclectic restaurant
  • Dress to Impress. Get new clothes or wear something that will make you feel sharp. If you think you look good, you'll walk with your head held high and your date will notice. You don't want to be self-conscious or your date will feel it, too.
  • Practice Great Manners.
    • Open the door and be gracious.
    • Listen, listen, listen. It can be hard if you're a talker (like me), but your date will feel closer to you if they have a chance to speak.
    • Don't blab about your past. Focus on your date and not yourself. There's plenty of time to discuss your previous shipwrecks. Instead, keep the date positive and focused on the good things in life. You'll both enjoy it more.
  • Relax and Have Fun!

Oh my, don't be too perfect! You'll work too hard living up to it, and when it all crashes down, imagine the disappointment!

Don't over estimate your life, or make things up about it. Us girls can figure it out. If you have a minimum wage job or what ever, just tell the truth........its much more impressing.
