Hi ya'll, my name is Gwen. I was dxed with diabetes type 2 this past Feb. I still don't know a lot about it. I've done some research..but don't understand all that I've read. All I know to do is take my meds (JanuviMet?) and stick myself every day, twice a day. As for counting carbs and other diet tips...I'm clueless.
I live with my very understanding husband. (what a man!). I have two children, a son who is 29 and a daughter who is 26, and one fur baby, a dog named Toby.
I love to crochet, paint, read and am learning to knit. That is, when my eyes and hands allow me to persue these hobbies.
In addition to the diabetes I suffer from Fibromyalgia, MS, recurrent major depression, high blood pressure and a host of other conditions normally associated with Fibromyalgia.
Though, most of the times I am still mobile, I have to resort to the use of a power chair when shopping or out where there is a lot of walking to be done. (more than a block)
And of course I use a cane when I am walking for two reasons. 1) I broke my left tibia and fibula in 1988, and it was set wrong. A few years later it was discovered that I had a deformity in my left ankle and knee. They were either also broken when I broke the other bones and not addressed by the physician or being set wrong the joints wore down in a wrong way

2) because of the MS, the FMS (fibromyalgia) and the diabetes I have considerable balance problems.
Well that's all about me for now...I'll leave ya'll with gentle hugs and healing kisses.
Gwen
