Light Bulb first post

Even though I joined several months ago I have not posted before. Part of the reason was that I did not have my own computer(now I do) and part of the reason is that I feel like a fraud. I often times come to the forum to read what other people post and I find that they all seem to be worse off then I am.
Yes I am diabetic . Yes I was in a serious car accident in 1985 which caused spinal damage, shoulder damage and knee damage. Yes I was just dx with neopathy along with a heart murmur. I take more meds than I care to. Most of the meds do nothing to alleviate the pain or help with the sleeping problem.
But I am still breathing although it sometimes hurts to breathe. The sun still comes up every morning and sets every night.
I don't know all the terminology for D, like pumping or bolus. I have no clue what they mean. I just try to get through each day the best way I can. Sometimes it is with a lot of pain and sometimes it is without pain(I like those days best).
I do the best that I can since I have no family to help or talk to.
Anyway that is all that I have to say about that.

I don't understand why you think you are a phony. Is it because you feel you don't have the education to contribute? If so, well, it isn't about education. It's about experience.
When you wrote this post you wrote about your experiences. You also wrote about YOU. How you remain hopeful, knowing the sun will come up. Today I am very frustrated. But your hope and that smiling little wavy guy made me smile. You made my day easier. THANK YOU!

Welcome Kelpie

Don't feel a fraud. Everyone is welcome here and your experiences may enable you to give the advice that someone needs. As you are diabetic it might help you to check out diabetes daily if you haven't already; there are a lot of people there who will help with any questions you may have.

Yes Becky it is because I don't have the knowledge that everyone else seems to be able to offer. I read a lot about D but I don't understand half of what I read.
Thank you for your encouragement. Have a wonderful day.

Yes Jane, I joined DD awhile ago. But the same reasons apply. I just don't think I have any info to offer that will help anyone. But thank you for your response.

Katie, this is a place for support, and it sure sounds like you need a touch of support!

i don't know how you cope with all those problems, but you DO make it thru each day, and that is a tribute to you!

please feel free to vent/share information/ask questions, as that is what a support group is all about

take care
