I agree Kate that the most important thing is for the baby and mum to be healthy. I didn't get to cuddle Fred for about 15 minutes after he was born

- they whisked him off the special care to put a cannula in his arm just in case he got ill (he was 4.5 weeks early and they've found that in cases like him it's better to do it just in case rather wait until the baby gets sick and it's a struggle to find a vein). I would have liked to cuddle him sooner but we bonded just fine and his health had to come first. I just hope that with all the attention to "a natural experience" they don't forget that health comes first.
